If you selected at least one Featured profile on the Add Categories page, you will come to the Bid for Placement page where you will set your own bid per click.
Users search for Vendors by city or zip code (or Vendor Name). Search results appear in bid order for Featured profiles. There is a minimum bid per click that ranges from $.25 to $.45 (depending on the population of the county) but you can bid higher than the minimum to appear higher up in the search results. When you bid for a county, you are bidding for all of the cities within that county. We felt it was much more manageable to bid on ~3100 counties than ~20,000 cities.
You should set your Max Bid Per Click to be what you are comfortable paying for a click. IMPORTANT: You will only pay $.05 more than the next closest bid to hold your position. If you bid $1.00 per click and the next highest Max Bid Per Click is $.50, you will pay $.55, not $1.00. You will often not be charged the rate you set as your Max Bid Per Click. If you don’t exceed the top bid for a category/county, you’ll be prompted. Simply click to either increase it or continue to the next step anyway.
You will also set a Weekly Click Budget here and indicate if you wish to be notified when you’ve been outbid. If you meet your Weekly Click Budget, your profile will downgrade to Basic until the following Monday at 12:01am Eastern Time.
